The SSU MLT program is a 5-semester sequence that prepares graduates for professional certification and careers working in the medical field in a range of testing and analysis roles. Testing may include work in blood banking, hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology and/or molecular diagnostics. Alumni from the program have routinely found starts to their careers very quickly, as positions continue to be in high-demand at hospitals and medical facilities. Part of the program also requires MLT students to complete service while engaging with surrounding communities.

Applications for acceptance into the Shawnee State University Medical Laboratory Technology program starting the Autumn 2022 semester are due by Apr. 1, 2022. For more information on the program, visit shawnee.edu/mlt or call Jean McGlone, MLT Program Director, at (740) 351-3102.
