SSU offers a Master of Education degree with two strands: Curriculum & Instruction and Intervention Specialist. Both strands are offered through asynchronous coursework in a 4 – 6 semester sequence – a Fall start (4 semesters- fall, spring, summer, fall) or a Spring start (6 semesters – spring, summer, fall, spring, summer, fall).
Shawnee also offers two online licensure-only programs at the graduate level through the Ohio Deans Compact LISD Collaborative: Intervention Specialist: Hearing Impaired Teacher Licensure Program and Intervention Specialist: Visually Impaired Teacher Licensure Program. Both licensure-only programs are offered through asynchronous coursework in a 4-semester sequence (Summer, Fall, Spring, Summer).
Both the Master’s degree strands and the licensure-only programs are designed around the schedules of working teachers and school professionals, facilitating learning activities that are immediately applicable to the teachers’ current classrooms and work experience.
