The College of Professional Studies will be the leading educator of high quality professionals.
The College of Professional Studies is home to numerous professional programs offered at the associate, baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degree levels. The College includes the following departments and schools:
Academic Schools and Departments
Each degree program builds on a solid foundation of general education courses offered through the University College and the College of Arts and Sciences and specific professional courses, laboratory experiences, and clinical practice through the College of Professional Studies. The result is graduates who not only have an understanding of the theory behind the discipline, but also have supervised, practical experiences within their chosen fields.
All programs offered by the College prepare successful graduates to enter the workforce and many are nationally accredited providing graduates opportunities for professional licensure. College of Professional Studies alumni may enter the profession of their choice or further their education at advanced levels.
In addition to the other teacher preparation programs offered by the College of Professional Studies, the faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences and the faculty of Education in the College of Professional Studies collaboratively provide teacher preparation at the middle and secondary levels in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies; and at the multi-age level for Art Education. Students interested in a career in teaching at these levels should also review the applicable content area Department in the College of Arts and Sciences for more information on the content area courses and any specific requirements of those Departments.
Donations can be made to the University through the Development Foundation.
