After her daughters graduated with degrees from Shawnee State University, Elizabeth Adams decided it was her turn. Being from Portsmouth, she has watched SSU grow from a small community college to the bustling and diverse university that it is today - and she’s so proud to be a Bear.
“After you’ve been here a while, you’ll understand,” she says.
She knew from childhood that her dream was to be a teacher, and her love of history made choosing a specialty easy. The path to success has had its bumps in the road, but Elizabeth has her eyes on the prize - a degree from Shawnee State University that tells employers she knows her stuff.
