For Dalton Fox, college hasn’t just been an opportunity to learn how to program games - it’s been an opportunity to reinvent himself. Shawnee State University gave him the chance to be the person he’s always wanted to be, and now he always makes a point to meet new people and try new things. He believes staying involved on campus is made easy thanks to SSU’s small class sizes.

“I don’t think I would have been able to open up as much as I have on a larger campus,” he said.

Dalton has spent the past few years working at Yost Labs - a local tech company founded by Simulation & Game Engineering program founder Paul Yost. He loves that he’s able to use the knowledge and skills he’s learning at SSU out in the real world while he works toward his degree.

Dalton’s long-term goal is to use his degree to help other students just like him - students who may need a little push to see just how outstanding they are.

Shawnee State’s game design programs are ranked among the best in the nation. SSU offers two distinct, but coordinated game simulation programs - one in arts and one in engineering technologies. These programs, like any of our 70 academic areas of study, prepare you for an outstanding future.
