
Graduates of the Radiologic Technology Program at Shawnee State University earn an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program covers six academic semesters that combine classroom instruction and clinical experience. All classroom instruction is held at the University while clinical experience is gained at one or more of the nine medical centers located throughout the Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky area.
Graduates from the program are eligible to take the national certifying examination provided by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon graduation and completion of all academic requirements. Shawnee State University is expanding its Radiologic Technology program to address the needs of the region by offering the program using a distance education delivery model. Students now participate in lab coursework in Chillicothe as part of its ongoing partnership with Adena Health, creating a direct pathway for students to prepare for in-demand careers in medical imaging while supporting the region's health care workforce needs.
The program will be delivered using a distance education model, with labs offered at the PACCAR Medical Education Center on the Adena Regional Medical Center campus, as well as in Portsmouth. Together, the sites provide students with a comprehensive learning environment that blends online classroom instruction, in-person lab experiences, and clinical training.
Scholarships Available
Ohio students can apply to receive a $1500 scholarship up to full-tuition when you apply and are accepted.
