Tuition Assistance Program
Adena Health believes that well-educated and talented caregivers are essential in providing the highest quality care for our community. As such, it offers financial resources to support the educational and career advancement needs of its caregivers.
Adena’s Tuition Assistance Program helps caregivers further their healthcare education by providing financial aid in the form of a loan that will be forgiven in exchange for completion of an employment commitment to Adena. The program aims to develop and retain talent in critical need and hard-to-fill roles.
Caregivers can access program details, including the application process and forms, under the “Human Resources” tab on the Adena intranet home page. Contact Adena’s Human Resources department with any questions.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Chillicothe
Shawnee State University will begin offering its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the PACCAR Medical Education Center, located on the Adena Regional Medical Center campus in Chillicothe. The initiative brings one of SSU’s most in-demand academic programs directly to Ross County, providing a convenient option for students to pursue a career in nursing.
Students enrolled in the Chillicothe-based BSN pathway will learn in a modern health care education environment and complete clinical experiences within Adena. Adena employees will also have direct access to a pathway for earning a BSN, supported by employer tuition assistance and professional development opportunities.
Learn from experienced nurse educators, taking advantage of small class sizes and curriculum accredited thorugh the Accreditation Comission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Cover the essentials of nursing practice informed by the most current theory in the field.

Radiologic Technology Associate’s Degree – Chillicothe
Shawnee State University is expanding its Radiologic Technology program to address the needs of the region by offering the program using a distance education delivery model. Students now participate in lab coursework in Chillicothe as part of its ongoing partnership with Adena Health, creating a direct pathway for students to prepare for in-demand careers in medical imaging while supporting the region's health care workforce needs.
The program will be delivered using a distance education model, with labs offered at the PACCAR Medical Education Center on the Adena Regional Medical Center campus, as well as in Portsmouth. Together, the sites provide students with a comprehensive learning environment that blends online classroom instruction, in-person lab experiences, and clinical training.
Radiologic technologists play a critical role in patient diagnosis and care, and demand for skilled professionals continues to grow across Southern Ohio.

Advance your career by turning your two-year health related degree into a bachelor’s degree through this flexible, career-focused and fully online program. Choose from courses that focus on medical terminology, the healthcare system, ethics, research, management and finance. Courses are taught in 7-week sessions.
