What is the portfolio option?
The portfolio option requires students to demonstrate and report their level of achievement of the MBA Program Intended Student Learning Outcomes (PISLOs) developed for the Master of Business Administration program. Various assessment measures such as surveys, comprehensive exams, and course capstone projects will be used to gather student data.
Each course in the curriculum will have designated assignments the student must upload to a central location on the Web. Students will assemble the portfolio by drawing from course documents and experiences throughout the program.
The course will require the students to:
- Create an ePortfolio with assignments and other material from prior program courses linked to the MBA Program Intended Student Learning Outcomes (PISLOs). This material includes syllabi from all courses taken in the program, MBA program objectives, specific course assignments completed during the entire program, and copies of rubrics and feedback for the selected assignments provided by instructors and peers.
- It is expected that the feedback will be used to make improvements to the final ePortfolio submission
- The student is solely responsible for maintaining copies of your course work and feedback to complete this requirement.
- Prepare a written summary of the ePortfolio contents which demonstrates that the student has developed the skills, knowledge, understanding of theory, professional disposition, real-world application, and mastery of the MBA Program Intended Student Learning Outcomes (PISLOs).
- Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation detailing the professional growth attained during the program.
- Review a peer’s ePortfolio and provide constructive, written feedback using the provided rubric.
- Complete the required online subject matter assessment (10% of course grade).
- Take the required online student program survey.
Choosing the Portfolio or Internship
The two capstone options are designed for students with different goals and needs. You must work with your advisor to select the pathway that is best for you after you have completed 17 or more hours. Your selection with details must be submitted 60 calendar days BEFORE the beginning of the term you are planning to complete the requirement and approved by your advisor and the MBA Program Director.
