Success in Discovery

Myla Netral knew she wanted to study math in college, but she never realized before coming to Shawnee State just how many paths mathematics could take her. She started in math education, but realized teaching wasn’t her passion. A course in rhetoric and reasoning, combined with an interest in business and Spanish, changed her direction. She explored data analytics, and then heard about a new math concentration at SSU that would prepare her for one of the top-rated careers in the U.S. – actuarial science. She was among the first in the program and is excited about where her combined college course experience will lead her after graduation in May.
