The Shawnee State University Musical Theatre Department will present the hilarious, 9 to 5, The Musical, Nov. 17-20 at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA).

Newly chartered at Shawnee State University, the Entrepreneurship Club is designed to help current SSU students gain exposure in different fields while developing skills they can use in their future careers.

Members of the Shawnee State University Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program presented a booth on Oct. 28 at the HalloweenTown event in Russell, KY. 

Shawnee State University’s Office of Career Services will be hosting an Internship Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 9 starting at 11 am until 2 pm.

Shawnee State University Board of Trustees recently inducted a new Student Trustee to serve one fiscal year on the governing board. Cassidy Starnes, a native of Gallipolis, Ohio, was inducted onto the Board early in the autumn semester and will continue to serve in this role until June 2022.

Helping prepare and mentor future medical professionals in all fields, the Shawnee State University Pre-Med Club seeks to expand the experiences of its student members in all medical-based activities. Recently the club visited the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Shawnee State University will be offering a series of Motorcycle Ohio Basic Rider Safety Courses on campus. The courses include both classroom and motorcycle range instruction. The first course will be offered on Oct. 30-31.

Shawnee State University’s annual Shawnee Game Conference (SGC) will offer a number of scholarship and award opportunities for student participants. These awards are available to all registered SSU students regardless of their major.

For Senior Resident Assistant Cassidy Collins, Shawnee State University has become a second home. The Resident Assistant (RA) program at SSU consists of a group of upperclassmen students who oversee on-campus residents and assist the office of Housing & Residence Life with tasks and student-related needs.

The Shawnee State University Kricker Innovation Hub will host “Entrepreneurship in Gaming: Funding Your First Game” as their next session of the Entrepreneurial Journey Speaker Series. The event, to be held virtually, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 28 starting at 5:30 p.m.
