Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has reappointed Scott Williams to the Shawnee State University Board of Trustees. Williams previously served on the board following his appointment in 2013 and will begin a six-year term following his appointment on July 10.
Williams serves as Chief Executive Officer of Ohio REALTORS and has led the statewide association since 2019. Before becoming CEO, he spent 15 years as Vice President of Public Policy. His experience in government relations and public policy includes leadership roles with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association, and on staff in the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives.
"We are fortunate to have Scott back on our Board of Trustees," said SSU President Eric Andrew Braun. "He is a long-time advocate for southern Ohio, for Shawnee State's mission, and for the role higher education plays in strengthening our region."
Williams earned his Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Policy and Fiscal Analysis, as well as his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, from Ohio University. He remains active in civic and professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Ohio.
Williams said he looks forward to supporting the university as it expands opportunities for students and strengthens its impact throughout the region.
The Shawnee State University Board of Trustees oversees the university’s academic programs, budgets, general administration, and employment of faculty and staff. The Board consists of nine Trustees and two non-voting Student Trustees appointed by the Governor of Ohio.
