Shawnee State University’s Master of Business Administration program is designed for working professionals ready to advance their careers.

“The MBA is the most versatile graduate degree,” said Dr. Terry L. Hapney Jr., professor and director of Shawnee State’s MBA program.

Graduates pursue opportunities in a wide range of roles, including marketing, finance, information systems, accounting and management, across many industries.

“Our graduates go on to work in a variety of positions and fields,” Hapney said. “They’re using what they’ve learned to make an impact.”

The program offers flexible scheduling and supportive faculty, allowing students to complete the degree in as little as 12 months. Students may enroll full time or part time to fit their lifestyle. Courses are delivered primarily online, with select in-person sessions designed to encourage collaboration and networking.

“Every course includes a hands-on project,” Hapney said. “By the end of the program, students have a professional portfolio to show employers, highlighting what they can really do.”

Shawnee State also provides graduate assistantships, leveling modules for students without a business background, and Ohio’s most affordable tuition among public university MBA programs.

“An MBA can open doors you never thought possible,” Hapney said. “You don’t just gain knowledge — you gain confidence, leadership skills and connections that last a lifetime.”
