Graduating this semester with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Tory Donini (Hometown: Lucasville, Ohio) found her way to Shawnee State University after her family attended to receive their degrees. Seeing how her sister was inspired and immersed within the Marketing program in the university’s C. H. Lute School of Business, she decided to pursue the same degree.
“I did research on the degree and discovered all of the diverse paths I could take with a marketing degree whether that be brand and project management, public relations, human resources, etc.,” she said. “I am driven greatly by tangible results and aiding in helping others succeed. Any role you find yourself in within the realm of Marketing will involve helping brands or organizations grow, solve problems, and achieve desired results.”
Finding opportunities to work closely with her classmates, Donini has been grateful for how her small class sizes allow her to connect with her Marketing professors.
“With Shawnee being a comparatively small university, one-on-one time with your professors is nearly always at your disposal,” she said. “The program allows us to collaborate with classmates on a series of projects in which we work together as a marketing agency for real clients and businesses, partake in networking sessions with local entrepreneurs, and attend portfolio and resume workshops.”
Finishing her degree this semester, Donini is also completing a minor in Human Resource Management. With this combination, she’s looking forward to getting a jumpstart on her career.
“I hope to have a long and fulfilling career as an HR Specialist, particularly working in employee relations,” she said.
