Shawnee State University’s Office of Career Services recently celebrated the Grand Opening of their Iris Pro Photo Booth on campus. With this new service, in less than fifteen minutes students, alumni, faculty, or staff members can take and receive a professional headshot to use with their resumes and professional networking tools.

“You are able to use the photo on whatever platform you desire,” said Austin Raines, Associate Director of SSU Career Services. “I encourage folks to use it on our Career Services platform, Handshake, and LinkedIn because that is often what is first seen when someone clicks on your profile. You can make a difference in what could be your first impression with a professional headshot.”

The process offers a similar experience to taking a selfie, but the results are of a high-end studio, establishing an equality for all students using the service. Career Services is also partnering with SSU Human Resources to allow new employees to receive a professional headshot during their orientation period.

“The grand opening was an opportunity for the campus to view and use the booth, network, and enjoy light refreshments,” said Raines. “I am incredibly grateful to Jillian Willison, SSU’s Talent Management Administrator, who was the honored guest that cut the ribbon.”
