Shawnee State University is starting a Performing Arts Academy for students grades six through 12.
The academy is designed as a preparatory program for students interested in entering a world of professional performance training. Student enrolled in the classes will participate in ballet, jazz and tap classes to hone in their skills for college programs, regional and national stage productions, as well as many more performance opportunities.
An informational meeting about the Performing Arts Academy has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Aug. 18 in the Kahl Studio Theatre in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. A trial master class session will follow the informational meeting at 10:30 a.m.
Students interested in the Performing Arts Academy should register for both sessions by emailing Summer Logan at slogan@shawnee.edu. Please include the name and age of each student.
