Shawnee State University’s Dental Hygiene program will host an Alumni Continuing Education Day on Saturday, Sept. 24. Part of Homecoming Weekend celebrations, the event will offer Dental Hygiene alumni and other dental professionals the opportunity to complete six continuing education hours.

Continuing Education Day will consist of presentations by program faculty members as well as current dental hygiene students. Georgeann Kammer, Associate Professor and Marie Richey, Assistant Professor will present on “What you need to know about the “new” AAP Classification System: Stage and Grade 101”. Kelly Simmons, RDH, of Elevate Oral Care will present in the morning on Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) and upon completion of the course participants will meet all requirements for the state of Ohio’s dental board requirements for application of SDF.

Registration for Continuing Education Day is available online and is $100 for dentists, $95 for non-SSU dental hygienists, and $85 for SSU Dental Hygiene alumni. Current SSU Dental Hygiene students can register for $30. These prices are for entire day registration where participants will receive a total of six continuing education hours. Registration fees for morning session and afternoon session only are available as well.
