Governor Mike DeWine signed the capital budget bill (Senate Bill 450) on June 15.  The bill includes $28.5 million through the Small Campus Targeted Assistance fund and more than $3.3 million from the Higher Education Improvement Fund. These monies will support major investments in natural sciences laboratories, health science laboratories, the Clark Memorial Library and Massie Hall.

"We are grateful to Governor DeWine, House and Senate leadership, and members throughout the General Assembly who understand the importance of delivering high quality education in south central Ohio,” said Shawnee State President Eric Andrew Braun. "We take the responsibility seriously to spend wisely and ensure our facilities are commensurate with the level of ingenuity and innovation at work every day on our campus."

This funding is one of the largest state investments in Shawnee State University’s campus infrastructure and supports the university’s long-term vision for growth and student success.

University leaders will begin planning and implementation immediately. Additional details and project timelines will be shared as plans progress.
