Dennis, of Columbus, serves as vice president of government affairs for High Bridge Consulting. A Lucasville native, she graduated from Shawnee State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences and a minor in political science.

Her career includes serving as a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate, working in the private lobbying sector, and roles within the offices of Ohio Department of Development and the Ohio treasurer. She said her professional background and experience growing up in southern Ohio have prepared her to serve the university that launched her career.

"Growing up in southern Ohio helped me develop a strong appreciation for this community and its needs,” Dennis said. “My work in government affairs has allowed me to engage in statewide conversations about higher education and workforce development, and I look forward to bringing that perspective to the board.”

As a trustee, Dennis said she is eager to contribute both as an alumna and as someone with a deep understanding of state government.

“I’m proud to be a Shawnee alumna,” she said. “I’m excited about the leadership of the president and the board, and the growth I see happening–from academics to the new football program. There’s real momentum at Shawnee State.”

Dennis said she is grateful for the opportunity to support the university’s continued progress.
