Shawnee State University has appointed Dr. Jennifer Pauley as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. Dr. Pauley, who has been with the university for nearly 15 years, was previously the Chair of the English & Humanities Department.
Dr. Pauley is a 1995 graduate of Shawnee State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English & Humanities. She received her Ph.D. in English in 2006 from Ohio University before returning to become a faculty member at her alma mater.
A faculty member in the English & Humanities Department since 2007, she has served on several university committees including the University Faculty Senate Executive Committee, the College of Arts & Sciences Recruiting Committee, and the Women’s Center Advisory Committee. She was awarded the university’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2012 and received the LGBTQIA+ Ally Award in 2019 from the university’s Women’s & Gender Equity Center.
“I am a great believer in the value of the liberal arts, so having the opportunity to lead the College of Arts & Sciences is a true honor,” Dr. Pauley said. “I am excited to see what the faculty and I can accomplish together.”
