Shawnee State University’s student organization AHANA (African, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American) partnered with the Women’s & Gender Equity Center to host their fourth annual Women Who Rock awards as part of their Women’s History Month celebration.

Celebrating staff and students on campus, the awards give an opportunity to celebrate the success and contributions of women throughout the campus community in various categories.

Student Awards:

  • Outstanding International Student: Katniss (Wenji) Lu
  • Phenomenal Woman of Color: Jamya Hatton
  • Stand Out Teammate of the Year: Regan Osborn
  • Humanitarian of the Year: Rebecca Scholl
  • LGBTQ+ & Ally of the Year: Kathleen Barcomb
  • Distinguished Woman of the Year: Sofia Mikhailichenko

Faculty & Staff Awards:

  • Stand Out Employee of the Year: Heather Cantrell
  • Phenomenal Woman of Color: Sthefany Thomas
  • Social Butterfly of the Year: Dr. Virginia Young
  • Humanitarian of the Year: Christina Baker
