COVID-19 Testing

If you are experiencing symptoms stay home and perform a home test or get tested at a health care facility.

  • If your results are positive, refer to the COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines (PDF) for guidance.
  • If you test negative remain home and test two more times at least 12 hours apart or stay home until symptoms resolve.
  • If you are symptomatic, test negative, and cannot remain home wear a well-fitting, good quality mask around others. Advise others that you are experiencing symptoms prior to attending meetings or classes. Avoid social gatherings until symptoms resolve.

Health Guidelines on Campus:

  • Masks are optional on campus.
  • The use of masks may still be required in designated laboratories and clinical experiences, and will be communicated by individual faculty.
  • The CDC recommends the use of masks for those who are at high risk for severe illness. Anyone who feels more comfortable wearing a mask is encouraged to do so.
  • Shawnee State will continue to adjust policies based on guidance from the CDC and local health officials. Any changes in our health policies will be communicated to faculty, staff and students.
