Alumni Green
Beginning in 2026, Shawnee State University will move to one annual commencement ceremony to be held in the Spring.
By bringing our entire campus community together for one annual ceremony, we ensure that each graduate gets to walk across the stage in front of their entire class of friends in an event that is full of energy, celebration, and support.
Students who will complete their degrees in the summer or autumn semesters may choose to walk in the Spring Commencement before or after their expected completion, depending on the number of credits that remain to be completed.
Guidelines for students:
(Only applies to students graduating after December 12, 2025)
Students completing their degree requirements in a Spring term:
Select the Spring Commencement ceremony matching that academic year.
Students planning to complete their degree requirements in Summer or Fall terms, who have less than or equal to 18 credit hours remaining:
May choose the Spring Commencement prior to degree requirement completion OR the Spring Commencement ceremony following completion of degree requirements.
Students who have greater than 18 credit hours to complete following a Spring Commencement:
Must choose the Spring Commencement ceremony following degree requirement completion.
The deadline for students to petition for Spring Commencement is January 15, 2026.
