The Shawnee State University Development Foundation (SSUDF) has welcomed alumna Jen Aikman as a member of its governing board.

Jennifer Aikman

“I had an amazing time as an undergraduate student at Shawnee State,” said Aikman. “I was always very involved on campus and now I am honored to be selected as a Development Foundation Board Member and to continue to serve my alma mater and its mission of educating tomorrow’s leaders.”

After graduating from SSU in 2005 with a Business Administration degree focused in Accounting, Aikman started her career working as an auditor for the State of Ohio. A year later, she changed career paths into the financial sector and has been working in banking for more than a decade. She has helped her community with more than $9 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the SBA rolled out its programs. Most recently, she accepted a position as Vice President Senior Commercial Banking Officer at Buckeye State Bank located in Powell, Ohio.

“The university is continuing to grow its academic curriculum and athletics programs and make a name for itself as one of the best colleges in the nation,” she said. “It is exciting to be able to contribute in some small way to this transformative impactful mission.”

The SSUDF supports the mission of SSU to make a difference in the lives of the students and community of the university. The SSUDF’s Board is led by a volunteer group of community members dedicated to advancing education in our region, enhancing campus life for students at SSU, and improving the quality of life for those who live and work in our region.
