Shawnee State University is happy to announce an articulation agreement with Columbus State Community College (CSCC) to offer enrollment opportunities to their Associate Degree Nursing graduates in the online RN-BSN pathway.

The online RN-BSN program at SSU has been established, but since the university has developed with online General Education Program, the RN-BSN online program has become even more attractive to students outside of the Portsmouth area.

The partnership with SSU’s online program offers affordable tuition and convenience especially for nurses currently working in the field to continue their education.

“This agreement started out as a conversation between myself and Dr. Curt Laird, Dean of the Division of Health and Human Services at CSCC at one of the College of Professional Studies Advisory Committee meeting,” said Dr. Leeann Denning, DNP, RN, Chair of SSU’s Nursing Department. “This is a terrific opportunity for our Nursing Department and Shawnee State to help students achieve their educational goals and advance the profession of nursing.”

Recruitment is already under way, and a new cohort will be joining the program beginning Spring Semester 2020. CSCC graduates a cohort of student nurses every semester, similar to SSU’s Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program.

SSU currently offers four nursing pathways: Associate Degree in Nursing, LPN-RN pathway, Pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and the RN-BSN online pathway.
