Shawnee State University received a generous donation of an AMX GE Portable X-ray machine from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for SSU’s Radiologic Technology program.
“It is our pleasure to donate the portable x-ray machine to our friends at Shawnee State. We’ve always been delighted with our affiliation and consider the university our partner in preparing students to become quality driven technologists,” said Terri Hannon, Director of Radiology Services, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. “Many of our technologists are graduates from Shawnee State’s program, and some have become leaders as well. We look forward to continuing our relationship with SSU for many years to come.”
The machine will be used in classrooms to teach hands-on techniques and skills to current students.
“Students in our program will benefit greatly from having a portable, energized x-ray unit to enhance their critical thinking and problem solving skills for the clinical experience,” said Sheena Shifko, program director of Radiologic Technology at SSU.
