Caitlin is a junior at SSU and is studying gaming arts. When choosing a university and program to study, she was sold by SSU’s tuition cost and location. It was close to home for her. The gaming arts program being nationally ranked helped her decide what to study.

The gaming arts program has a 10-1 teacher-to-student ratio. This has allowed Caitlin to make friends with her professors. She feels comfortable on SSU’s campus because of the size and feel of it. While at SSU, Caitlin has also been able to network and create relationships with her peers.

Caitlin said the program is an excellent preparation for the real world. “It is a sink-or-swim program. Six or more hours are required of you per week, outside of the classroom.”

SSU provides their gaming arts students with state-of-the-art resources. These include programs such as Maya, Photoshop, IDVD, Designer, and more. The basics are taught before getting more in-depth. Caitlin’s advice to students coming into the program is to be prepared to work hard and study.
