Shawnee State University nationally ranked on 2018 Princeton Review of Top 50 undergraduate schools to study Game Design
Shawnee State University is nationally ranked on The Princeton Review Top 50 undergraduate schools to study Game Design for the eighth year in a row.
The Princeton Review has reported game design program rankings annually since 2010 and schools are chosen based on its survey of 150 institutions in the U.S., Canada and abroad that offer game design degree programs and courses. The 40-question survey collected data from the schools’ game design academic offerings and lab facilities to their graduates’ starting salaries and career achievements.
Shawnee State University to hold National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge
Shawnee State University will hold the National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Apr. 4 and 5 in the Morris University Center.
The American Red Cross and the Migrant Students Foundation have partnered up to honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez, and are dedicated to encouraging students to promote health, education, health and science careers, civic engagement and saving lives.
The surrounding community is also invited to boost the blood supply and support the challenge.
Shawnee State University welcomes Patrick Murray as part of Jane M.G. Foster Distinguished Lecture Series
Shawnee State University is pleased to welcome Patrick Murray as part of the 2018 Jane M.G. Foster Distinguished Lecture Series at 7:00 p.m. on March 28 in the Sodexo Ballroom East in the Morris University Center.
Murray will be giving his lecture, “Polling in a Brave New World.” The presentation addresses both the challenges and opportunities for practitioners and consumers of polling data the 2016 election exposed, not only regarding political polls but for the myriad economic and sociological studies that rely on survey research.
Shawnee State University begins James A. Rhodes Athletic Center Renovations
Shawnee State University will begin its renovation of the James A. Rhodes Athletic Center as part of the Athletics Expansion starting Sunday, March 18.
First phase of renovations focuses on remodeling the Warsaw Natatorium to welcome SSU’s men’s and women’s varsity swimming teams starting fall 2019. The Warsaw Natatorium will close starting March 18 and reopen beginning of fall 2018. Renovations include upgrades to the pool, as well as the completion of new locker rooms for the men’s and women’s swimming teams.

Vern Riffe Center for the Arts announces Fifth Annual After Dark event
A number of area artists have been chosen to display their work at this year’s event. In addition to the local artists, retired Shawnee State University Professor Ken Carlson will be traveling from Chicago to participate in the event.
The artists’ work ranges across diverse media, including painting, ceramics, ink, mounted insects, photography and digital media. The artists themselves represent a wide range of backgrounds of SSU students, staff, alumni, faculty and retirees.
