Shawnee State University calls for public comment prior to evaluation by the Higher Learning Commission

Shawnee State University will welcome a team from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) on September 24, 2018. The HLC team will review the university’s continued ability to meet their criteria for accreditation.

“The accreditation process seeks to determine and confirm the academic quality of the institution and how our institution meets its mission,” said Dr. Jeff Bauer, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at SSU.

Shawnee State University has been accredited by the HLC since 1975.

Shawnee State University to start Performing Arts Academy

Shawnee State University is starting a Performing Arts Academy for students grades six through 12.

The academy is designed as a preparatory program for students interested in entering a world of professional performance training. Student enrolled in the classes will participate in ballet, jazz and tap classes to hone in their skills for college programs, regional and national stage productions, as well as many more performance opportunities.

Shawnee State University partners with ViewSonic

Shawnee State University Development Foundation is happy to announce its partnership with ViewSonic in support of SSU’s eSports program and the Shawnee Game Conference (SGC).

ViewSonic is a multinational electronics company specializing in visual display technology, specifically liquid-crystal displays, projectors, modern educational display technology and more.

ViewSonic will be contributing 12 XG2402 Gaming Monitors along with a gaming projector towards SSU’s eSports program.

Ohio Department of Higher Education approves Shawnee State to waive standard tuition rates for nonpublic high school and home school students under College Credit Plus

The Ohio Department of Higher Education has approved Shawnee State University to waive standard tuition rates for nonpublic high school and home school students who do not receive funding under the College Credit Plus (CCP) program.

CCP has been open to private and home-school students since 2015, but the newly approved tuition waiver at the state-approved CCP program rate resolution will provide additional educational opportunities to these students by allowing them to self-pay for up to 30 credit hours per year at a reduced tuition rate.
