Shawnee State University Alumni Association will be hosting its second annual SSU Night at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, March 14.
Shawnee State University to induct four into Hall of Fame
Shawnee State University (SSU) will be inducting four alumni into the Hall of Fame on Friday, Feb. 7. This year’s induction class includes Mandy (Goin) Davis, Brad Liston, Alannah Sheets, and Jami Turrill. SSU Athletics will also be presenting the Ralph Kavanaugh Home Team Award to Dr. Steven Rader during the ceremony.

The Shawnee State University Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the 2020 presentation of Alumni Awards. The association recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of Shawnee State alumni who are making strives within their careers and throughout their communities.
Athletic Center Open House Jan. 30
The Recreation Center is a new 4,201-square foot space that offers everything from common weight room equipment (dumbbells, kettle bells, squats and dead lifts), to cardio equipment (treadmills, ellipticals and stairclimbers), and features a new TRX and motion cage. Some machines, such as the treadmills, come with USB charging ports.
Shawnee State University’s Shirley Crothers-Marley publishes “Make Me an Oyster”
Shawnee State University’s Shirley Crothers-Marley, former faculty member and current adjunct instructor of Music and Theatre, recently published her book of poetry, “Make Me an Oyster.”
“Make Me an Oyster” is a collection of poetry Crothers-Marley has written throughout her lifetime. The first half of the book is about her reflections and observations on the natural world, and the second half focuses more on personal relationships and the people she loves.

The Shawnee State University Board of Trustees will meet Friday, January 10 at 1:15 p.m. in Room 215 of the Morris University Center (MUC) on SSU’s campus.
The Finance and Administration Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Room 214, MUC. The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 11:00 a.m. in Room 215, MUC.
