The Shawnee State University Board of Trustees will meet Friday, November 8 at 1:15 p.m. in Morris University Center (MUC), Room 215, located on Shawnee State University's campus.

The Executive Committee of the Board will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the MUC, Room 215. The Finance and Administration Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. in the MUC, Room 214. The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 11:00 a.m. in the MUC, Room 215.

In honor of all those who have served the United States, Shawnee State University will be hosting its 25th Annual Veterans Recognition Day Ceremony and the Annual Veterans Recognition Week from November 5 through 7 .

A recent Columbus Business First article comparing cost increases for college students among U.S. colleges and universities found that students in Ohio saw lower than average cost increases and cites Shawnee State University as the only institution in Ohio to actually lower its cost of attendance. The combined cost of tuition, fees, room, board, textbooks, and other expenses is 5% lower at Shawnee State University today than in 2009. Over this same period the average cost increase among universities in Ohio was 17%.

The 2019 Shawnee Game Conference (SGC) will be hosted over the course of two days this year.

Shawnee State University will be hosting an Open House for those community members interested in becoming members of the Golden Bear program. The Open House will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23 starting at 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the Morris University Center. Those interested in the program may attend the Open House to tour the facilities, ask questions, and sign up to become a member.
