Shawnee State University to host Veteran’s Recognition Ceremony on Nov. 9
Shawnee State University’s Office of Military & Veteran Services invites the public to attend Veteran’s Day activities held on campus on Thursday, Nov. 9. With Veteran Displays set up in the Morris University Center lobbies starting at 10 a.m., the annual Veteran’s Recognition Ceremony will take place beginning at 12 p.m. in the Morris University Center Ballroom.

Shawnee State University’s Office of Admissions will host their annual Plastics Day on Friday, Dec. 1. The event welcomes high school students and parents who are interested in learning more about the Plastics Engineering Technology program at SSU.

When Shawnee State University Mathematics Professor Emeritus Dr. Jinlu Li gave a presentation to an international academic audience in India in September, he had the support and confidence of his peers in the SSU Math Department.
SSU senior enjoys meeting and connecting with new faces through Campus Life
A Carlisle, Ohio native, senior Zoe Harville has connected with many different student groups during her time at Shawnee State University.

“I’m a pretty active person on campus so I love representing Shawnee and my organizations,” she said. Harville was recently crowned Homecoming Queen. “My boss in the Title IX Office is the one who nominated me for Homecoming Court.”
Newsboys to perform at Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on Nov. 17
Internationally-acclaimed Christian band Newsboys is bringing their high-energy performance to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. Newsboys’ powerful lyrics and electrifying stage presence have captivated audiences worldwide.

A senior in the Plastics Engineering Technology (PET) program at Shawnee State University, Aiden Kammler has enjoyed his experience connecting with his classmates and his faculty members within his program.

As a member of the I Am First Gen program at Shawnee State University, Makayla Aiken has found a place to receive support and build connections while completing her degree.

“Being a first gen student is a lot of figuring it out on your own,” she said.
Shawnee State junior discovers her passion in Local History
Hannah Kline, a Minford, Ohio native, found her major at Shawnee State University by looking into the past.

“I realized as I was taking my electives that I was taking more and more History courses, and it had become my passion" she said.
SSU students travel to Dominican Republic to immerse in Spanish culture
Given the opportunity of traveling to the Dominican Republic this past summer, Shawnee State University student Annie Ucci saw the opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills in the Spanish language. As an English major, she originally wanted participate in the trip with Professor Pablo Salinas as a way to further expand her Spanish-speaking skills outside of a classroom setting.
SSU’s Clark inspires to make a difference through Medical Lab Technology
Julia Clark, a Waverly native, found her career inspiration at Shawnee State University as a student in the Medical Laboratory Technology degree program.
