Shawnee State University announces Matt Matthews Early Arrival Scholarship program
Shawnee State University has announced the Matt Mathews Early Arrival Scholarship program to award 25 scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to new students beginning in the Autumn 2021 semester. These scholarships will be renewable each year for those students who maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Kricker Innovation Hub’s Ignite Portsmouth awards $8,500 to potential entrepreneurs
Shawnee State University’s Kricker Innovation Hub (KIH) hosted their inaugural Ignite Portsmouth: Entrepreneurial Journey Boot Camp and Pitch Competition at the end of last month. Eighteen teams of potential entrepreneurs took part in the six-week boot camp to receive support towards implementing their business ideas.
Shawnee State University Announces Fulbright Award for 2020-2021
Shawnee State University is pleased to announce that Dr. Lavanya Vemsani has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award in History for the 2020-2021 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. This is the first award of its kind for a professor at SSU.
