Shawnee State University Students Start Spirit Band

Coming from a background in high school that was very involved in band, Jacob Lynn felt like something was missing at Shawnee State University during his first year on campus. At the start of his sophomore year, he was excited to learn the Office of Student Life was interested in starting a spirit band on campus. Connecting with Director of Student Life Tiffany Hartman and sharing with her his past experience in music, he was asked to help start the band on campus.

One of only twenty-eight students selected out of an applicant pool of 8,000, international student Ghaida (Ida) Bouchaala received a scholarship to pursue a university degree in the United States. A native of Tunisia, Bouchaala chose to major in Business Administration with a concentration in Management while attending Shawnee State University.

Shawnee State University to host Day of Giving on November 30

The Shawnee State University Development Foundation (SSUDF) will host its fifth annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, November 30 as part of Giving Tuesday. The 24-hour fundraiser will raise funds for the Shawnee Fund – the foundation’s unrestricted fund that supports scholarships, grants, academic and student programming, and much more.
