Shawnee State University will host an Inauguration Weekend to celebrate the installation of Dr. Eric Andrew Braun as its 8th President on Apr. 19 & 20, 2024. A Portsmouth, Ohio native, Dr.

Shawnee State University’s Office of Career Services and Office of Workforce Development will host Hire a Bear: All Majors Career Fair on Friday, Mar. 22. The event welcomes SSU students and alumni who are interested in talking with potential employers diverse and comprehensive career fields. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from a wide range of organizations to discuss potential future employment and internship opportunities.

A dual major from Minford, Ohio, senior Abbi McKinney is earning degrees in High School Math Education and Mathematical Sciences at Shawnee State University. During her time at SSU, McKinney has found a community of people whose interests align with hers in a comfortable close-to-home environment.

Knowing she is pursuing an academically-challenging degree program, Corrine Woods is excited to be in the Pre-Med program at Shawnee State University. She originally debated between becoming a veterinarian or a doctor before ultimately deciding to work towards a career as a physician.

Shawnee State University’s Teaching & Learning Center will host its Faculty Research & Teaching Expo on campus Mar. 6-8. SSU faculty members across academic departments will share their research and teaching strategies. Sessions will be held in person, but additional virtual access through Microsoft Teams will be provided for many sessions. 
                

Kaitlyn Cooper sees endless opportunities with the education she is gaining through Shawnee State University. The Franklin Furnace, Ohio native is a senior majoring in English & Humanities with a concentration in Communications and a specialization in journalism. She is also minoring in Deaf Studies.
