Housed within the College of Professional Studies, the Engineering Technologies department will teach you the practical and scientific bases of ever-changing technological advancement. Whether you choose a major, associate's degree, or minor through our departments, you'll find that our department's core goals stay the same. First, our mission is to encourage you every step of the way as you complete your education. You're learning how to shape the future, and along the way, you'll hone your work ethic, cooperation skills, and desire to do excellent work.
All of our programs offer career-oriented, technical instruction grounded in a strong base of science and mathematics. How do you prepare for a program in the Engineering Technology department? If you did not take mathematics and science courses in high school and you need help before the start of your freshman year, take a look at the developmental courses available through Shawnee State, like the Summer Bridge Program. If you can, it's better to do so during the summer before starting fall quarter. The university administers mathematics and English assessment tests in order to place each student in appropriate courses.
