Kaleigh Spires first found her career interest after accompanying her father to therapy sessions after an accident he had. Now in her junior year in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Shawnee State University, she sees how she can impact patients during their healing process.
“The Cher Show” coming to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts on January 25
Shawnee State University’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (VRCFA) welcomes the Broadway musical “The Cher Show” on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024. The performance starting at 7:30 p.m., will be held in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater of the VRCFA.

Alumna expands her network through SSU’s Master of Education program
A native of Lucasville, Ohio, Kayla Conaway graduated from Shawnee State University with her bachelor’s degree in Education in 2015. 5 years later, she decided to return to her alma mater to obtain her Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction, graduating from the program in 2022.
Shawnee State University on Winter Break Dec. 18 – Jan. 2
Shawnee State University’s campus and administrative offices will be closed for Winter Break starting Monday, Dec. 18 and will remain closed through Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. Access to the MySSU student portal – including registration, payment plan, student billing, financial aid, etc. – will still be available throughout the closure.
SSU’s Grace Smith reflects on the best decision she ever made
Grace Smith, a native of Sciotoville, Ohio, is very direct in her opinion about Shawnee State University.
