Katherine is a Middle Childhood Education major. She believes Shawnee State University’s education program is just as good, or better than any other university has to offer. Katherine has enjoyed her experience at Shawnee State because the small class sizes have encouraged her to participate in class discussions and become familiar with her peers and professors.

Katherine has had several unique opportunities that have allowed her to travel abroad to Japan, Germany, France and Czechia. “You don’t realize how much you’ve learned until you started student teaching” she admits.

Katherine will graduate in the spring of 2019 and has been placed for teaching at two separate schools, teaching social studies and language arts.
