What do I need to do to get started?

If you don't have the SSU App:
If you haven't already, Download the SSU App and login to get started.

(If you need help logging in to the SSU App, follow these instructions.)

If you have the SSU App:
If you have the SSU App, you’re all set. You should see the new Get Your Health Pass tile on your home screen.

Hit this tile to Self-Report a vaccination/test/exposure, access Pre-Screening, or Track Symptoms.

If you can’t download the SSU App:
If you don't have a smartphone or can't access the SSU App, you can still pre-screen before visiting campus. Learn how to pre-screen online.

What do the different Screening Options mean?

When you access the Get Your Health Pass tile, you will be presented with the following options. Keep reading to learn more about each option and what they mean for you.

My Health Pass (Unvaccinated only)

Once you answer the questions using the pre-screening tool, you'll get a "health pass" for the day. If you are cleared to be on campus, the pass will be green with the current date.

Health Pass Clear Screen

If you have reported a COVID-19 vaccination, your pass will look like this. Your Vaccinated pass will be available for 24 hours. Screenshot it and save it to your favorites for easy access in the future and to avoid needing to report again.

Pre-Screening (Unvaccinated only)

The Pre-Screening form will need to be completed every day (if you are unvaccinated) before arriving on campus to receive your daily Health Pass. 

Symptom Tracker

Complete this form if you have been asked to self-isolate or quarantine. This feature allows you to log and track your symptoms, and report them to the SSU Health Team.

Self Reporting

If you’ve been vaccinated or tested for COVID-19, please complete this self reporting form to inform the SSU Health Team of your test results.

What do I do once I have received my Health Pass?

You may be asked to display your health pass when entering a classroom or other campus area.

Vaccinated? Report once and save your blue Vaccinated pass to use in the future.

Unvaccinated? Pre-Screen daily to receive a new green Health Pass each day you are on campus.

What if I have trouble registering my account on the SSU App?

To log into the SSU App, you'll need your Shawnee Network username and password. (Your network account is different than your email or MySSU accounts. Learn about your Shawnee Network account at shawnee.edu/get-connected.)

To activate your Shawnee Network account to use it for the first time:

  1. You can find your initial temporary password in MySSU >> Official Notifications >> message from ITS with subject "Your SSU Account"
  2. Change your Initial Password (PDF Instructions)
  3. Your temporary password can not be used to log in to the app. You must reset your password first. (See PDF Instructions in step 2 above).

To reset a forgotten password:

  1. Complete the IT Service Desk Get Help Form
  2. ITS will give you a temporary password you can use to reset your permanent password online (PDF Instructions)
  3. Your temporary password can not be used to log in to the app. You must reset your password first. (See PDF Instructions in step 2 above).

What if I don’t have access to the SSU App?

You can complete your Self-Report of vaccination or daily Pre-Screening online. Call the SSU Health Team at (740) 351-3276 if you need a printed Health Pass.

Is my information safe? Who has access to my self-reporting data?

The Health Pass on the SSU App gives you direct access to the SSU Health Team. Information provided on the Health Pass portion of the app is confidential. Data is encrypted, visible only by the SSU Health Team, and protected as medical information.
