Reach your goals. We’re here to help.
The 2021 Summer Bridge to Success Program is now underway and the registration deadline has passed. Fall 2021 Students that were not able to participate in the program or that applied after the program start date have the following options for admission:
- Appeal your ACT or SAT placement by taking a placement test. By passing the Accuplacer test it will deem you college ready for your courses this Fall. If you have already appealed your ACT or SAT scores and have been unsuccessful, then, your next step is to meet the college level requirements in another way:
- Attend a Community or Technical school and complete your developmental course work in Math, Reading or English. By attending a community college or technical school and completing developmental course work this Fall you may be eligible to apply for admission as a college ready transfer student for Spring 2022.
- Plan to attend the Summer Bridge to Success in Summer 2022. Please email email@example.com to update your application for Fall 2022.
Bridge to Success is a seven-week program designed to give applicants with low ACT or SAT scores a chance to complete required developmental (pre-college level) courses in the summer to be able to enroll as an incoming freshman in the fall. If your ACT or SAT scores place you in two or more developmental courses — Reading, English, or Mathematics — you will automatically be admitted to the Bridge to Success program.
During the program, in addition to your developmental coursework, you will receive career counseling and academic advising to determine the best path to reaching your goals — whether that is through a college degree from Shawnee State or an alternate path with one of our education partners, including community colleges and career and technical centers.
As a Bridge to Success student, you will be conditionally accepted to Shawnee State University. Once you successfully complete Bridge to Success, you will be admitted as an incoming freshman for the fall semester.
