Student Achievement

As an open access institution, Shawnee State University has a history of serving students that possess a wide variety of academic preparation. Shawnee State University provides students the possibility to earn associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Movement of students from one program to another (bachelor's to associate's, for example) potentially misrepresent the overall success of our students. Additionally, students succeed at different levels depending on their level of preparedness. In fact, students with an average score on the ACT have a more than 60% chance of earning a degree from Shawnee State University. Students in the top third of their class have a 65% chance of earning a degree. Students who earned a 2.0 their first semester have a nearly 70% retention rate.
