Kentucky Scholars

Kentucky Scholars is a scholarship offered students of non-reciprocity Kentucky counties who enroll at Shawnee State University. The scholarship is equal to the out of state surcharge. The Kentucky Scholars is awarded to new freshman students who have achieved a composite score of 20 or higher on the ACT* (combined mathematics and critical reading SAT scores of 940 or higher) and have a high school grade point average of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale).

Transfer students will qualify for the scholarship if they have a minimum cumulative college grade point average of a 3.0 or greater. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years contingent upon completing 28 semester hours per year and achieving a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.0.

The Kentucky Scholars is awarded to those students seeking their first bachelor's degree. 

In order to apply for Kentucky Scholars, you need to complete the following items by December 1, 2016.

1. Apply for admission to SSU. Your application for admission will be used as your scholarship application.
2. Send your ACT/SAT scores to our Office of Admission.
3. Send your current high school grade point average to our Office of Admission.
