Emergencies

The campus counseling center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  If you have a mental-health emergency or need urgent care, walk into our office or call 740-351-3608.  A counselor will be available to you within a few minutes.

After office hours, on weekends, and when the University is closed; help is available through the resources below.  These services are available seven days a week on a 24-hour basis, and can be reached by calling:

In urgent situations, on-campus mental health services can be accessed after office hours by contacting the SSU Department of Public Safety at 740-351-3232.

You may go to the nearest emergency room at any time for help.  If you are on campus, the closest emergency room is Southern Ohio Medical Center located at 1805 27th St. Portsmouth, OH.
