Workshops

Campus Counseling Services offers a variety of skill building and experiential workshops focused on issues that often occur among college students. These workshops are free and open to all university enrolled students. Workshops are 50 minutes and are limited to 12 members. Campus Life

Are you new to campus and feeling overwhelmed? Do you feel stressed for time or don't know who/where to turn for help? Come to Campus Life workshop where you will learn about locations on campus, resources on and off campus, stress management, and budgeting. The workshop will consist of 4 sessions beginning the first week of the fall semester. No pre-screening required. Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Beating Depression

Come play with pipe cleaners and build a neuron! Beating Depression is a psycho-educational workshop providing information on symptoms of depression, challenging myths, function of anti-depressants in treatment and how depression affects the neurotransmitters of the brain. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Contact CCS at 740-351-3608 to be enrolled. 

Anxiety 101

Do you constantly worry? Are you feeling anxious? Come see us! Anxiety 101 is a psycho-educational workshop providing information on symptoms of anxiety, understanding the causes and effects, and learning coping skills to relieve anxiety symptoms. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Grit

Do you often feel guilty for saying no? Do you find yourself being taken advantage of by others or feel like you cannot voice your feelings? Grit can provide students with these valuable skills to enhance not only their college experience but also their professional and personal lives. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Relaxation Station

Life got you on edge lately? Have you been ignoring your internal check engine light? Maybe the distraction of Netflix just isn't cutting it? Attend Relaxation Station and do something about it! We'll take a timeout to learn and practice relaxation techniques that you can take with you and use in your own life. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Adulting 101

Campus Counseling Services wants to promote a balanced lifestyle for student success through the 7 dimensions of wellness including: Emotional, Career, Intellectual, Spiritual, Physical, Financial, and Environmental. Come and learn valuable life skills that can help you achieve a more balanced lifestyle physically, mentally, and emotionally. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Lifeline

Do you find yourself in one failed relationship after another? Come to the Lifeline Workshop to learn about red flag behaviors, assertiveness, boundaries and the role our values play in choosing a partner. This workshop also educates you on resources that are available on/off campus if you are a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or bullying. This workshop has 10 sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated.  Stress Less

Feeling overwhelmed?  Stress Less is a skills workshop targeting stress management by focusing on self-exploration of identifying one's triggers to stress, behaviors that increase vulnerability to stress and implementing coping skills to mitigate stress. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated. Stinkin' Thinkin'

There's a joke that claims insanity is doing the same thing yet expecting different results. However, this type of insanity is better explained as being stuck in unhelpful ways of thinking. If you're tired of the same results in some aspects of your life, this workshop will help you troubleshoot your thinking patterns to open up new opportunities for success. This workshop has four sessions.  Minimum enrollment of 3 students required for workshop to be facilitated.
