Requirements


High School juniors who want to enroll in a Tech Prep Program in Adams, Lawrence, Pike, or Scioto counties must meet the following criteria:

  • 2.0 GPA ( 2.5 recommended minimum)

  •  Excellent attendance (90% recommended)

  • Passage of proficiency tests highly recommended

  • Completion of Algebra I

  • Other academics as required by each Tech Prep program

  • Recommendation by school official

  • Parental consent

Tech Prep students should be adequately prepared to enter college and will therefore be expected to meet state standards for graduation including the following:

  • Four units of English

  • Three units of Science

Physics and Chemistry are recommended for students taking Engineering Technologies, Networking, or Information Systems/Services

Advanced Biology & Chemistry is recommended for students taking Health Technologies

  • Three units of Mathematics

          Algebra I prior to or during the junior year

          Algebra II or a higher level math (trigonometry or pre-calculus) is required prior to  graduation

         

*Students must take one unit of math during their senior year
