About the Help Desk

The Help Desk at Shawnee State University looks forward to offering the latest information technology (IT) to the campus and is eager to assist students, faculty and staff in preparing students for the changing needs of business, industry, and education, and society by ensuring that current technologies are in place and in working order.  This means we are committed to providing quality technical support for all areas of campus including academic labs and classrooms, administrative offices, student housing, and public locations, as well as delivering personal assistance to the end user.

Our goal is to not only provide support to resolve your technical issues but provide tools so you can resolve common hardware and software issues.  We look forward to completing improvement projects that will bring new technologies and technical solutions each academic year.

The Help Desk utilizes a software package called HEAT (Helpdesk Expert Automated Tool).  This software package is the center of our Help Desk operations and many of our improvements will interface through HEAT.  By submitting a request directly to the Help Desk you can be assured that the issue will be received, reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.

Whether it concerns your network, email or MySSU account or connecting to the Internet, do not hesitate to contact us if you need assistance.  After all, IT is what we do!
