CARS
Shawnee State University is in the final stages of transitioning to a new administrative system. This system will replace the POISE system, which SSU has utilized since the early 1980’s. The new system is the CARS-CX Information Solution. This package is a completely integrated, enterprise-wide system of communication and information, using state-of-the-art, evolutionary software and hardware. CARS will provide all the features of our previous system with the addition of a more integrated database to reduce duplication of data and simplify things for the student, a student web interface (registration, grades, billing), document imaging for record retention, and a communications package, which integrates with Microsoft products for mailings to students and employees. Currently Admissions, HR Payroll, Financial Aid, Registration, Student Billing, and Student Activities, Financials and Purchasing modules have been implemented and are functioning on the new CARS software package. The next modules to be completed are Degree Audit, Loan Packaging, Web Registration and Admissions as well as Alumni Development.
