Campus Emergency Procedures
What to do During an Emergency Situation
- Remain calm and offer assistance as needed
- Call the Campus Police and Security emergency number at 740-351-3232
- Evacuate buildings upon a fire alarm or by request from authorities
- Shelter in place upon hearing a campus siren or seeing activation of an emergency notification device
- Know the location of at least two emergency exits closest to your living, classroom or working areas
What NOT to do During an Emergency Situation
- In order to keep lines open, do not use the telephone except to report an emergency
- Do not use an elevator
- Do not jeopardize your life and the lives of others by attempting to save property or personal possessions.
Report all suspicious activities to Campus Security. SSU has procedures in place to report to City, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies.
