The University Center provides dining, recreational and administrative facilities in one building.  Besides offering student services, the University Center is the "Center of Students Activities," and one of the most popular public meeting/dining facilities in Southern Ohio.  Listed below are the various facilities that the University Center has available for both student and community use.

FACILITIES INCLUDE: 

Welcome Center   

The Welcome Center, located just inside the main entrance, is staffed with student assistants who are ready to answer any and all questions you may have concerning SSU or the University Center.  Available for sale are various snacks, school supplies, and FAX service.

Micklethwaite Banquet Hall 

The Micklethwaite Banquet Hall, located on the second floor, has a capacity of 200 for meetings and 180 for dining.  The hall is available for university and non-university uses such as wedding receptions, meetings, conferences, banquets and family reunions.  When used in conjunction with the Micklethwaite Lounge on the first floor, this facility is perfect for dances & proms. 

Meeting Rooms 

Two meeting rooms on the second floor can accommodate 12 people for either meetings or dining. 

Baxter Lounge

Seating 150 in a lecture setting or 125 for dining, this lounge is perfect for receptions, formal events or proms. 

Administrative Offices

The offices of the Vice President for Student Affairs, The Registrar, Career Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, Financial Aid, Bursar, and Student Activities & Auxiliaries are all located within the University Center. 

Other University Center Facilities:

Our Game Room is the "fun place" in the University Center. Located on the first floor, the Game Room has pool tables, ping-pong tables, various electronic games, card tables and a big screen TV.  Housing resident mailboxes are also conveniently located in the Game Room.  Hours: Mon.-Thur. 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Friday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Saturday 12:00 - 6:00 p.m.  Located on the second floor in the Baxter Lounge, two TV lounges offer relaxing television viewing for students. 

Bears' Den Cafeteria 

Located on the ground floor, the Bears Den Cafeteria offers a complete daily menu, a full service salad bar and fast food items. Hours are: 

Monday -Thursday.......7:30 AM - 7:00 PM 
Friday.........................7:30 AM - 6:00 PM 
Saturday.....................11:00 AM - 6:00 PM 
Sunday.......................11:00 AM - 6:00 PM
