A complete application
file will include a letter of application, a vita, and copies of
graduate and undergraduate transcripts (unofficial or official),
teaching statement, and three letters of reference.
Applications received by December 20, 2011 are assured of
receiving full consideration. In the letter of application, a
candidate should clearly and specifically address how their
qualifications satisfy the requirements for the position and
whether they plan to attend this year’s joint AMS-MAA meeting in

Description |
Shawnee State University,
an open-admission primarily undergraduate state university, is
accepting applications for a continuing contract eligible
faculty (tenure-track) position in the Department of
Mathematical Sciences. Pending budget approval, this position
will begin Fall 2012. The ideal applicant will have a Ph.D. in
Statistics. Applicants with a Masters in Statistics and a
doctorate in mathematics or mathematics education will receive
strong consideration if they have experience teaching
undergraduate statistics. Applicants with a Masters in
statistics but no doctorate may receive consideration for a
full-time instructor position (non-tenure Track). |

Minimum
Qualifications |
Candidates will be
evaluated on the extent to which information from their
application packet demonstrates a commitment to:

teaching undergraduate
statistics;
·
implementing the
recommendations for teaching undergraduate statistics as
presented by GAISE (The Guidelines for Assessment and
Instruction for Statistics Education for The American
Statistical Association);
·
use of appropriate
technology;
·
use of applications to
motivate mathematical and/or statistical ideas.
·
Research in statistics or
statistics education.
