 Job Title Composition/Writing Center Director - Full-Service Faculty Position
 Department English & Humanities
Position Description

The Department of English and Humanities is accepting applications for a continuing contract (tenure-track) faculty position, beginning Fall 2012 (pending available funding). Primary duties include teaching composition courses and directing the Writing Center.  Standard teaching load is 12 hours per semester with additional responsibilities to include student advising, committee service, and participation in departmental activities.  Eight hours of reassigned time granted per academic year for Writing Center responsibilities.

Position Qualifications

PhD (Assistant Professor) or ABD (Senior Instructor) in English with a specialty in Rhetoric and Composition required by August 1, 2012.  Required:  Three years of college teaching experience, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and professional activity in composition through coursework, publications, presentations, and/or attendance at conferences.  Desirable:  Experience working with computer-assisted instruction, working in writing centers, and working in an open-admission educational setting
